North British Insurance Company. London, England. 1809-1862. Raised Figure of St. Andrew with Cross. Early Tinned-Iron - one of the best surviving examples. Most were consumed by "tin-worm". Mark is still strong with only light surface rust. Mounted on Chamfered Board. Very Difficult to find in this Condition. 8 x 6 1/4 for just the Mark and 9 1/4 x 7 5/8 with Wood Board. Very Rare Varient. Note the different position of St. Andrews hands. Rare W53b; B785 Var.
