About FMCA
Dedicated to preserving the rich history of fire marks and fire insurance memorabilia since 1972
Our Mission
The Fire Mark Circle of the Americas (FMCA) was founded in 1972 to connect fire mark collectors across the United States. Our first meeting was held at the Museum of the Home Insurance Company in New York, bringing together founding members including Max Klein, Morton Werner, Eugene Morris, Albert Wills, William Hedges, and Thomas J. Tye.
Originally established as an authorized branch of the Fire Mark Circle of England, FMCA became an independent organization in 1975 while maintaining our affiliation with FMC. Today, we continue to grow and attract people who share an interest in our common objectives.
Our diverse membership includes insurance brokers, company personnel, firefighters, attorneys, teachers, and museum curators who participate through information exchange, mail item exchanges, and our annual conventions.

What We Do
Educate
Publish periodic newsletters and journals with information about fire marks and fire artifacts to advance knowledge in our field.
Facilitate
Enable mail item exchanges between members where collectors can acquire authentic fire marks and related memorabilia from trusted sources.
Connect
Host an annual three-day convention where members can meet, share knowledge, and participate in activities celebrating fire marks.
